The craft for Monday is nearly ready to go. I got the inspiration for this one when I saw Flip flops for 75 CENTS a pair at Hobby Lobby last week. Monday's theme is being Christlike, but I sort of put a theme of Following Jesus to the week. You have to follow Jesus to be like Him.
First, I made a footprint that would fit into the Flip flops, & traced & cut enough for 20 kids.

I wrote "Following" down the center of the footprints with a chisel tip blue Sharpie. If there were more time for the craft, I would let the kids do it themselves in puff paint.

I sorted through a couple of packages of Fun Foam letters & religious shapes (sticky-backed!), & removed all of the letters needed to spell "JESUS", & all the shapes that were small enough to fit the project. I'm going to have to get more letters, though.
The kids will glue the footprint into the flip flop, then stick the name JESUS onto the toe strap. Then they will use 4 or 5 shapes to decorate the shoe.

Now, I just need to put something on for hangers, so they can be hung on walls. I'm thinking fishing line. I'll post an edit with the pic of how I decide to do that.
This one is probably the most expensive craft we're doing this week, because fun foam shapes are not very cheap. But, the cost of the poster was under a dollar, since all I bought for that was a package of tissue paper. I'm not counting the cost of my paper & ink for the poster blank, but, even then, it's not much!
I'm off to get two more days done, I hope.
OOPS... didn't mention that the footprints are fun foam, too!

This is an great idea! I'm definitely doing this with my Children's Church group. Thanks!
@Larissa_Shea - Glad you like it & can use it! I'm getting crafts ready for this year's VBS now. Hopefully, I'll be posting them here in the next week or so.
This is a great craft to present to my class for my girls but my boys will not be too interested. Do you have any ideals for the boys craft? I am currently thinking myself. Please feel free to email tesaellis@hotmail.com
Thanks
